Cosmic Cycle of Universe as per Hindu Mythology....

An era in Hindu mythology is referred to as a Yuga, these yugas repeat themselves in eternal cycles of Chaturyuga or Mahayuga. Each Chaturyuga in turn is made up of four yugas namely
  • Krita Yuga \ Satya Yuga
  • Treta Yuga
  • Dwapara Yuga
  • Kali Yuga


Enlightenment, Wisdom, Dharma parayanatvam ( Following once righteous duties as prescribed by Veda) , Life span, Emotional & Physical strength in mankind is said to gradually deteriorate from highest in Satya Yuga to lowest in Kali Yuga leading into dark age.

Initially in Satya yuga dharmam remains on four legs and hence this yuga spans across 4*1200*360 years = 1,728,000 human years \ 4800 Deva vatsara (God year)
Subsequently in Treta yuga dharmam remains on three legs and hence this yuga spans across 3*1200*360 years = 1,296,000 human years \ 3600 Deva vatsara (God year)
Subsequently in Dwapara yuga dharmam remains on two legs and hence this yuga spans across 2*1200*360 years = 864,000 human years \ 2400 Deva vatsara (God year)
Finally in Kali yuga dharmam remains only on one leg and hence this yuga spans across 1*1200*360 years = 432,000 human years \ 1400 Deva vatsara (God year)


  • Each Chaturyuga \ Mahayuga is constituted by 12,000 (4800 + 3600 + 2400 + 1200) deva vatsaras = 4,320,000 human years
  • 71 such chaturyugas define a Manvantara (Manu + Antara meaning the difference between Manu) is the age of Manu
  • 14 such manvantaras define a Kalpa \ Kalpam ( 1 Kalpam is equivalent to a Day \ Night of Bramha)
  • 360 days of Bramha is equal to one Bramha vatsara = 8,588,160,000 (360*2*14*71*12000) deva vatsaras
  • 100 Bramha vatsaras = 858,816,000,000 (100*360*2*14*71*12000) deva vatsaras, is the age of Bramha
  • 1 Bramha vatsara = 1 day of Sri Maha Vishnu
  • 100 Vishnu vatsara = 25,920,000 (100*360*360*2) Kalpas / 362,880,000 Manvantaras / 25,764,480,000 chaturyugas / 103,057,920,000 yugas, is the age of Sri Maha Vishnu
  • 1 vishnu vatsara = 1 day of Rudra
  • 100 Rudra vatsara = 9,331,200,000(100*360*259200) Kalpas, is the age of Rudra

At the end of 100 Rudra vatsara, rudra unifies with Pancha Mukha Siva, there by ending one cosmic cycle.

The next cosmic cycle is said to start through Pancha Mukha Siva’s respiration i.e Maha Shakthi is born during Inhale and Sri Maha Vishnu, Bramha, Maheswara, Rudra are born during Exhale.

Expansion of this universe beyond leaps and bounds and creation of innumerous forms of life and living creatures (Agni, Vayu, Aksha, Prithvi, Jala i.e Fire, Air, Sky, Earth, Water and Plants, Animals, Human,…)is referred to as Shirshti
Orchestrating such an enormous universe and ensuring the order of life by establishing the divine law and ensuring that the creatures in universe are punished for their wrong doing as needed and appropriate is referred to as Stithi
At the end of each cosmic cycle this gigantic form of universe is transformed into a miniature form, this is referred to as Samharam
Preserving and safeguarding this miniature form of universe till the start of the next cosmic cycle is referred to as TiroBhavam
Forms of life in the universe that exhibit selfless lifestyle and surrender in entirety to almighty ( Sampoorna Saranagathi) attain Moksha \ Mukthi and are no longer needed to be part of the next cosmic cycle, this is referred to as Anugraham

In order to perform the above mentioned 5 divine phases of cosmic cycle, Lord Siva used to be with Five Faces ( Pancha Mukha Siva). At one point in time, Sri Maha Vishnu & Bramha perform an extraordinary meditation ( tapasya) for lord Siva subsequently with his blessings

  • Bramha is being granted a boon to manage Shirshti and thus being referred to as Shirshti Kartha
  • Sri Maha Vishnu is being granted a boon to manage Stithi and thus being referred to as Stithi Kartha
  • Rudra is being granted a boon to manage Samharam and thus being referred to as Samhara Kartha
  • Maheswara is being granted a boon to manage TiroBhavam
  • However, the last phase of Anugraham remains with the eternal lord Siva

Valli Vadha

Rama killed Valli from behind the tree, is that not Adharma ?

This has been the question from ages and the answer is No.

Rama, the King can and should punish those who commit sins and do not follow Dharma, Valli being the king of KishKindha himself has abducted the wife of Sugreeva when he was alive which is a severe sin.

I just wanted to share some more details on what makes Rama the King.....

As you all know Sri Rama along with Sita and Lakshmanamurthy were in "Aranya Vasam"

What authorizes him now to declare himself as emperor and punish Valli even if Valli commited sin??

During Ayodhya kanda "Bharata requests Rama in all possible ways to come back and rule the empire and that he will not be able to rule it"

Rama convinces Bharata that Rama has to be in Aranya if he were to keep his father away from the sin of falsehood and just because Kaikai is ready to take back the boons that were granted to her or because Bharata is ready to offer the kingdom to Rama he cannot go back to the kingdom.

Having said this Rama consoles Bharatha by saying Bharata you go back and rule the empire from Ayodhya and take care of people there and I will rule the Aranya and will control the peace in this aranya by ruling all the animals over here.

Valli is the son of Indra (the emperor of Amaravathy) and so he became the king of Vanaras all over the earth and ruled over them with "Kish Kindha" as his capital

Dasaradha maharaja was the sole emperor of the entire earth as he has performed AshwaMedha yagam before Rama's birth and the Yaga Ashwam has covered the whole earth in 1 year and came back with out being confronted by any one.

So Kish Kinda is a part of Kosala Rajyam and is part of Aranya so Rama is now the emperor of this part of earth.

Now let me add a few more details:

Dhanur veda says any person should do “Dhansuh tankaram” before actually releasing arrows from his bow, and Rama is sarva veda kovidha and knows all Vedas, Puranas, Sastra, and Dharma so he will also follow what dhanur veda says and so he always does “Dhanush Tankaram” before attempting to release his arrows at his opponents.

When Sri Ramachandra Murthy does Dhanush tankaram its so fearful that some thousands of birds and thousands of animals first die after hearing the sound, some of these birds fly away and all the creatures will be frightened and run away from the forest as far as possible.

Sri Ramachandra murthy does the same before he hit Valli with his arrow and the same happened here also, this makes it clear that Valli also saw Rama before he was hit by Rama but the speed of Rama’s arrows is beyond anybody’s imagination it will be explained in Kish Kindha kanda.

So Rama might have been behind the bushes when he released the arrow BUT he was not invisible when he released the arrow.

On top of this Rama don’t really need to be the king to kill Valli, Rama is a Kshatriya by birth and kshatriya dharma says he can hunt animals if they are harmful or he can kill humans\asuras if they are harmful to others.

Moreover Rama had to punish Valli for one reason beyond all “Rama Vigrahavan Dharma Saduh Satya Parakramah” so if rama were to remain on his path of dharma he has to kill Valli because he knows that Valli has commited a sin and he as a king, has to punish Valli for the following 2 reasons

• If Rama don’t punish Valli then rama will get the sin
• If Rama punishes Valli, then Valli will be set free from his sin

After this “Valli himself accepts that Rama was right in killing him and that he was at fault and not Rama”

Again the final conclusion that I would like to give beyond which there is no scope for arguments

In Yudha kanda Lakshmanamurthy had to confront, fight and defeat Indrajeet and he released an arrow on Indrajeet after chanting all the Asthras of Dhanurvedam on a dual headed serpent like arrow but still Indrajeet was not defeated.

Lakshmana recites a sloka this is called as Moola Manthram for Ramayanam

darmaatma satya sandastya - raamo daasaradhiir yadhi
Paurushaecha pratiidwandhwa - SarayNam jahi raaviniim ||

This sloka proves that Rama has always walked using 2 feet Dharma and Satya and so this story of Rama is called as "Ramayana: The ayana of Rama using Dharma and Satya"

Sitamavariki ki ama evaru?

ParameSvara swarupam ayina paTakulaki namaskaaram.....

Sita means a baby who came out of earth by herself when the plough hits her

"naagali Chuliki tagili paikochina SiSuvuki sita ani paeru"
"నాగలి ఛులికి తగిలి పైకొచిన శిశువుకి సిత అని పేరు"

As far as Ramayanam is concerned Valmiki is the cheif justice and there are no apeals beyond his judgement as Lord Bramha blessed him with the vision(Valmiki has a boon that he can know what each charecter in ramayana thought in their hearts in each situation while he writes ramayana)

As per valmiki ramayana, after Sita Swayamwaram when Janaka does the Kanya danam to Rama he says the following

iyaM sItA mama sutA - sahadharma carI tava |
pratIccha ca enAm bhadrantae - pANiM gRhNIshva pANinA |

శ్రీ సీతారామ కల్యణం సర్గ
ఇయం సీతా మమ సుతా - సహధర్మ చరీ తవ |
ప్రతీచ్చ చ ఎనాం భద్రంతే - పాణిం గృహ్ణీష్వ పాణినా |

Here Janaka is saying, this is Sita and she is my Daughter, Oh! Rama please accept her as your Dharma Patni she will follow you in all walks of life and cooperate with you in following your dharma hold her hand carefully during PaniGrahanam.


No father says these words "Mama suta", why did Janaka Maharaja say these?

Here the inner meaning is "Rama, i know this is Sita and my daughter if you say that she is not born to you and neglect her i will not accept she is my daughter and the most dearest daughetr frankly speaking she is 1 step ahead of you by birth as she is Ayonija, so i am proud today that i am doing Kanyadhan of this great child to you...."

Having said this Janaka immediately says "Rama, please dont misunderstand me, i have taken care of her these many days she has grown in my house as my kid so the love and affection i have for her are beyond any boundaries which made me say all this while i very well know the fact that she is always yours and you are always in her, who am I to give her to you, hey Rama accept your own Sita who has been growing in my house as my daughter"

So Sita is Ayonija who do not have any mother she was never in the womb of a mother.....

But then as she came out of earth she is treated as the daughter of Bhoodaevi as per some versions of Ramayana and other eminent scripts

To answer this question is Sita daughter of Bhoodaevi we need to understand a few things

Sri Mahavishnu is the lord of Sri Daevi and Bhoodaevi, now we need to know what is the meaning of this and is there any hidden message for us.

"Vishnu means spread all over -- so he is the material that is spread all over and he owns the earth and all the particles that come out of the earth".

Sri Daevi comes out of Bhoodaevi and both of them together are considered to be one and she(Maha Lakshmi) is the wife of Lord Vishnu.

Now with that we understand that Sita is none other than a form of Sri Daevi who originates from Bhoodaevi its self explanatory that, she is not daughter to anyone not even Bhoodaevi.
